· high confidence. Wikipedia dates the founding to 1976 and says she started it with a $2,500 loan from her parents; Hispanic Executive also says 'in 1976, she started her own company'. Encyclopedia.com says she launched Martinez Alvarado Construction Management Corporation in Palo Alto in 1974 with a partner. The company's own page could not be opened (the Alvarado Construction site did not load), so the two years are not reconciled: the 1974 Palo Alto firm may be the predecessor and 1976 the date of her own company, but no source opened says so. The year here follows Wikipedia and the profile attributes 1974 to encyclopedia.com.
