· high confidence. The profile text is right that it was co-founded with Kornberg. The NLM Profiles in Science page (opened 2026-10-18) says Zaffaroni proposed DNAX in 1980 and approached the scientists, with Kornberg, Berg and Yanofsky as founding partners, and that Schering-Plough acquired it in 1982. The URMC obituary (opened) also says he co-founded DNAX with Kornberg. Wikipedia's wording that he 'established' it is the outlier. The date he left DNAX was not found.
