Executive

Role

President from 1996, then president and CEO from 1998, 1996–2000
Source · medium confidence. Wikipedia says he stepped down as CEO in 2002, but that is not consistent with other sources. A CNET report (its page metadata shows 2002, but the text describes the merger as still pending) says he would step down after the Qwest merger closed, which Wikipedia's Qwest article dates to June 30, 2000. Wikipedia's own Graviton section has him chairman and CEO of Graviton from November 2000, a May 2002 Gannett release lists him as Graviton's chairman, president and CEO, and a Light Reading item says he spent 26 years at US West (1974 + 26 = 2000). So 2000 is used here; the exact departure day is not established.
